Envelopes
At CMYK Colour Online we provide extensive options for printing envelopes. We offer envelops in many different sizes. Envelopes may be printed in one colour, two colours or full colour (CMYK). For DL and DLX sizes we offer both plain faced and window faced envelopes.
When ordering envelopes it is important that all artwork has been set correctly. To assist you in doing this we have included helpfull information, diagrams and links to guideline templates on the page below:

Window Faced & Plain Faced Explained
We offer plain faced envelopes for all of our different sizes (DL, DLX, C5, C4 and B4). However, we also offer DL and DLX sized envelopes with a window faced option.
For our DL and DLX window faced envelopes, the window is always placed 32 mm from the left edge and 16 mm from the bottom of the envelope. The window is always 95 x 38mm in size. All printing must always be kept at least 5mm away from the window position. Please refer to the diagram provied below (click to enlarge):

One Colour, Two Colours or Full Colour Printing
At CMYK Colour Online we offer One Colour, Two Colour and Full Colour envelope printing. For a one colour envelope, artwork must be supplied containing only one PMS colour. For a two colour envelope, artwork must be supplied containing exactly two PMS colours. For a full colour envelope the artwork must be supplied in CMYK colour mode.
One and Two Colour Printing
For One and Two colour printing, all colours must be selected from the Pantone Solid Uncoated colour range.
PMS stands for Pantone Matching System. PMS colours are standardized colours listed in the Pantone Colour Matching System. Each Pantone colour has a specific code which different printers and manufacturers can refer to in order to ensure colour consistency.
When preparing artwork using PMS colours we recommend using either Adobe Illustrator or Adobe InDesign. Our preferred file format is press-ready PDF's.
Most image file formats and Microsoft Office documents do not support PMS colours. If you are preparing artwork for a PMS colour job, DO NOT supply artwork in one of these file formats.
If you are unable to supply artwork correctly using PMS colours, when placing your order please choose “I Require Graphic Design” (click here for specifications) and our friendly graphic design team will create your artwork for you.
For one and two colour printing all artwork must be at least 5mm in from the edge and 5mm away from the window of the envelope.
For full colour printng all artwork must be at least 5mm in from the left, right and bottom edges, and 10mm from the top of the envelope.

DL DLX C5 C4 B4
DL Envelopes
Dimensions: 110 x 220mm
DL Envelopes are designed to hold DL sized printing (99 x 210mm). This can be in fhe form of DL flyers, DL Postcards, DL with compliment slips, or larger sized brochures folded to DL (A4 folded brochures or Double DL folded to DL brochures).

DLX Envelopes
Dimensions: 120 x 235mm
DLX stands for an oversize DL envelope. This extra size allows for more documents to fit in the envelope and for easier and quicker insertion.

C5 Envelopes
Dimensions: 162 x 229mm
C5 Envelopes are designed to hold A5 sized printing (148.5 x 210mm). This can be in fhe form of A5 flyers/cards, or larger sized A4 brochures folded to A5.
