At CMYK Colour Online we offer many different folded brochures. When creating artwork for folded brochures, it is very important to set the panel orientations and the fold locations correctly. To assist you in this, we have included detailed explanations, folding diagrams and links to guideline templates for all of our folded brochures below:

(also known as a 4pp DL brochure)

Half fold: A method of folding where the paper is folded in half down the center of the page.

Artwork for Double DL folded brochures should always be supplied as 2 x Double DL (198 x 210mm) pages and NOT as 4 x DL (99 x 210mm) pages.

When preparing artwork for Double DL folded brochures (210 x 198mm flat sheet, folded to landscape DL - see diagram below), the front cover should be the top panel of the first page and should also be supplied up-side-down. The back cover should be the bottom panel of the first page and should also be supplied the correct way up. Page two should contain the inside pages of the brochure, these pages should be supplied the correct way up.

When preparing artwork for Double DL half fold brochures (198 x 210mm flat sheet, folded to portrait DL - see diagram below), the front cover should be the right panel of the first page and the back cover should be the left panel of the first page. A4 Brochures Roll Folded to DL

(also known as a 6pp DL brochure)

A4 Brochure Roll Folded to DL

Roll Fold: A method of folding in which the panels fold in on each other.

When folding (roll fold) your A4 printing to DL, we will fold your printing into thirds. Your printing will be folded inward in the same direction twice. This will create a brochure with six panels or pages (three on the front and three on the back).

Artwork for A4 folded brochures should always be supplied as 2 x A4 pages and NOT as 6 x DL pages.

When preparing artwork for A4 roll folded brochures (landscape A4 flat sheet, folded to portrait DL - see diagram below), the front cover should be positioned as the far right panel of the first page. (also known as a 6pp DL brochure)

A4 Z Folded to DL

Z-Fold: A method of folding in which each fold opens in the opposite direction to its neighbour, giving a pleated or concertina effect.

When folding (Z Fold) your A4 printing to DL, we will fold your printing into thirds.  Each fold will open in the opposite direction to its neighbour - giving a pleated or concertina effect. This will create a brochure with six panels or pages (three on the front and three on the back).

Artwork for A4 folded brochures should always be supplied as 2 x A4 pages and NOT as 6 x DL pages.
